Moving to California

This is my neighborhood. I sent you a PM.

You will be moving into one of the strongest baseball regions in the greater LA area.

Hart is normally the class of the area, closely followed by Valencia. I see West Ranch is on top of the league this year however.

I know someone at Hart and I am also know a very good pitching instructor in the area who could provide some insight if you want. Send me a PM if interested.

Good-eye, I'm in a similar situation with a HS sophomore and an 11 year old.

BUT, I don't have a job in CA. I don't know what you do but do you need an assistant!!!!!!

As far as scout ball look up the SoCal Cardinals. They run one of the stronger scout ball programs in the area.

This was fascinating to me because here Williams was showing this young player and telling him how good he was and where he could hit the ball anytime he wanted to and where the money was in hitting it to right field. While from the central coast...we traveled to that area a geat deal to play youth/travel ball. IMO it's baseball crazy. They produce some great young players and the opportunities for fun, development and moving up should be outstanding. You've done well.

You don't specify Private school or public School. The two top divisions in that area are CIF Division I (public schools) and CIF Division II (private schools. This is some of the best High School Baseball in the country and it is extremely competitive.

Divison I includes both private and public schools as does Division II. Some leagues have primarily private schools such as the Trinity league which is a Division I league. Most Division I leagues and schools are not private. The Divison II Mission league is primarily private schools but most Division II leagues and schools are not.

Leagues are put in Division I or lower Divisions based primarily on performance. Even so there are Division II teams that are significantly better than most Division I teams. In general Division I is stronger than Division II however.

Fair enough. I was talking about the area where he is heading: Santa Clarita area:

Valencia, West Ranch, Saugus, Hart, Golden Valley...all public and all Divison I.

That is if his son is up to that level of play. We play them and I can tell you it's tough.

I have sent the original poster a private message heads up on all the goings on in these areas. My son plays against all of these teams several times a year.
