I have not tried it but have been tempted. The MP 30 bat was one of the rare instances that I read an article, that was not an endorsement, in SI about a player for the Devil Rays who had great success with it and it turned his hitting around.
What is different about it? is it the way it is weighted or what?
This is a very good swing aid. It is shorter than a standard bat, so it forces you to stay inside the ball. In addition, the bat has a thicker handle and it is used by extending the thumbs up the handle to "lock in" the wrists, so to speak. It causes you to stay on the ball longer through the zone. My son has used it for about a year and has seen very good results by following the instructions on the website and using the bat regularly.
