Our summer prospects team has attended the PG Georgia event the last 2 years at 15U and 16U.  Great tournaments, lots of scouts and exposure for the kids.

This year, the organization has decided to send us to the Music City Classic 17U in June but I don't have any experience with the event.  It is a shorter tournament that runs from Thu - Sun.  I am wondering if anyone has been and what their experience was in terms of level of competition and college scouting exposure especially but all input welcomed!

Ditto what Buckeye said, my son pitched there this past season, they actually spent the Mon-Weds before at a show case at Middle-Tenn State before moving up to Nashville.  He said the Music City Tourney had some really solid teams and noted he grew as a PO seeing the competition he had to face.  He pitched in relief 3 innings at Vandy the day after they won the college world series.

#9 played in this tourney the past two seasons.  #7 played in the 16 version last year, I'm guessing his team will go to the 17 tourney this coming summer.  Nashville is a great city and Vandy is a great venue.  They also play at Lipscomb and another Nashville school, the name of which escapes me as I type this.  Having been to a lot of the national events over the past couple of years, as a parent tourist, this one is at or near the top just because Nashville is so much fun to visit.

My son had a tryout for a 13u travel team when he was 12 at BGA. When he walked up he just stood there staring at the field and said dad can I please go to high school here. I said sure if you don't mind selling the house and living in the car. He said that would be fine with him hahaha. It realy is a beautiful field.

Went to last years Music City Classic. Best part of trip was watching championship college World Series game on Vandy's football field.Did not see an over abundance of scouts and the fields were a hike between Clarksville and Battle ground academy.A lot of adult fun but you have to leave the kids behind.Hotels are expensive and I got scammed on a hotel called the Magnuson which on Expedia looked great but in reality was run down, under construction,in a bad neighborhood, and with my late check in after the champ game found the lobby locked down and would have been assaulted if we stayed.

Mustang....my son and his buddies watched at Vandy also....I went to a little sports bar across the street....they had a blast.  We didn't see a lot of scouts at the "outlying" games...other than a few who were looking at certain kids...but the games we had at Belmont and Vandy had a bunch....but again, like any tourney, it depends on who is playing...and sometimes who is playing right before or after you, as scouts will go where they can see the most players with the least driving.

We rented a 2-story 3-bedroom townhouse in a nice neighborhood out near the airport.  Private owner....excellent condition and fully furnished.  We had myself, my son and 3 other players.  $140/night.  We made breakfast and lunch there every day....and only ate out at night.  Saved a fortune.  We got it thru VRBO.com  I use that for as many tourneys as we can every summer.  If you haven't tried it...consider it.  Nashville has a lot of listings on there.
