It will be interesting to see where some of the players end up.

I heard Christianson is going to coach a 16 year old team and Gustafson is going to coach a 17 year old team. Can anybody confirm this?
Would you like these guys to do it for free and supply the fields, balls and time out of their own pocket? Aren't people supposed to make money from their business ventures? What do you want these guys to do? Live like monks and forage for roots and berries? I admire anybody that is able to supply a place for kids to play, get scouts and college coaches to look at the tournaments, and make a living.

Remember, without these guys, we could all play with our summer hs team. Wouldn't that be fun? Feel free not to have your son sign up, and by all means, don't pay if you don't want to. All teams charge money, and some provide more for the money than others. It is up to the parent to determine the value. I just don't understand complaining about it or making broadbrush statements about the organizations intent without knowing all of the facts. When you do that, expect to read the opposing view.

I can assure you of this, money was not the main focus of our families search. It was competition, learning and being seen. I by no means am rich, so I did my homework and found a way to get the money for the right fit. JMO
Yes, Lowry's team is now DBAT 16 for 2006. Kurt has been an instructor at DBAT for some time now and we are fortunate to have his team as part of the DBAT family.

As far as money goes, I can assure you that Cade and Kyle Griffis are out an astounding amount of money to support the DBAT select baseball program. The cost to our fall players is less than most others at $375. This fee covers our fall expenses as our kids get great exposure at Baylor, DBU, Rice, Texas, Texas Tech, UTA and the PG Showcase in Florida.

As Dbat 18 GM says, Lowry's Mustangs will be Dbat's 16 year old team next year.

Since it is out in the public domain, I want to say that this change is not because the Mustangs-Lowry were upset with the Mustangs organization. On the contrary, we were treated very fair and everything was done with class. I will not go into why me made the change other than, we are very excited about our opportunities with Dbat.

Dbat 18 GM, how do I cut and paste the Dbat emblem under my name? Cool

Stirring the pot on your second post? Dbat-Lowry had a tryout today and we didn't charge one cent for the kids to tryout. Furthermore, every penny the parents spend on our team will go towards the boys playing baseball!
Dbat 18 GM /kirk,

If you read the post. I said you will find very
few that care. As I do not have kids at the playing age. I here people at work and around complaining. I for one would not mind paying provided it is going to good use. (ie. Coaching, meaning kids are actually being coached not watched) Every child is a gem. However, some gems shine brighter. The ones that do not shine so bright at first, does not mean the cannot play. They may be the ones we watch on TV or in person. From what I have heard and read the D-Bat organization appears to be the best in the Dallas/Ft. Worth and surounding area. Stirring the pot on the second post, yes I was. Should I have probably not. But, what difference does it make, if it's the second or 200th post. It is freedom of speach in this country. It appeared to strike a sour cord. you two handled it better than the other person. If the coaches or the organization is only in it for the money, then they are in it for the wrong reason. IMO..Good Luck to all..

Doug, I have it on good authority that DBAT is quite happy with their teams heading into the fall and next summer. Sorry that I have no juicy gossip to report from this camp.

I'll try to dig something up to keep you busybodies happy.... Cool
