I wasn't going by what your poll says. I was referring to the actually poll that has them at #2 and most likely #1 this week after the WB loss. Nansemond River may be a good ball club and have beaten Western Branch, but that doesn't jump them to the #1 spot, that's not how it works. You earn your way up the ladder.

ofs, if the yankees lose the second game of the season to the orioles by two runs, having outhit them 13-7 and having no defensive lapses, does that make the orioles the best team in major league baseball?

i understand what u mean plus nasemond river is ahead western branch in the standings.its just the way i do things.unless theres a upset like if nasemond loses to oscar smith or indian river this week.

Haha ok. We're not saying N River doesn't deserve to be ranked, just not #1. The early season ranking are based off of finishes in season from last year and players returning. We don't know who is new this year to N River or who could be making a big defference. That's why these early polls really don't mean much.

Why do private schools get ranked within the region yet the Eastern Shore schools like Hampton, Menchville and such don't get ranked within the region? We play them in the Region Tournament so they should.

I suspect it has to do with areas of newspaper coverage. The Daily Press out of Newport News covers and reports on the Peninsula District schools as well as the private schools on that side of the Hamptons Roads Bridge Tunnel. Virginian Pilot does not.

The Virginia Pilot ranks the South Hampton Roads Top 10 - it has nothing to do with the Eastern Region or whether a school is public or private.

Don't you think equating Nansemond River to the Orioles is as extreme as ranking them #1 in the region after beating Western Branch? But then again....it probably wasn't fair to Western Branch equating them to the Yankees.
