Who has he committed w for college?

They will come and see how he plays in  "real" games If they r interested. Many can hit bombs in BP, nice but means nothing.

We had a teammate that was being followed by pros since Jr. Yr.  He only had a good yr, not great, and was going to be drafted low, so he went to a great college.

Keep us posted.

I've learned from Domingo that my son should exaggerate his movements when a college or pro scout is present and ridicule other players (especially if they are better) openly to make himself look good.

Using the term "Sunday league" and "semi-pro" freely helps also.

The intention is not harsh.  The intention is to help in explaining to dad that rattling to the world may not benefit his son.

I understood Bum right from the start. When someone is uninformed in the process they are more likely to say something that harms the process for their benefit than help.

That's fine.  I just think it could have been explained better.  You can't blame the guy for being excited, and I am sure most on here that have been through the experience were excited at one time or another.  It is fine to impart your wisdom on others, but I don't think it is necessary to come off as abrasive in doing so.  JMHO

If there were such a thing and maybe there is that I haven't run in to, my former friend Van Smith would surely have been one.  Here is an article on his passing:

He was a very special person.  I did several baseball coaching clinics where both of us talked and he always treated me as if I were someone special.  It was always the other way around.

As an FYI, Van started to give lessons at a local baseball facility before his passing.  A family came to me wanting me to take a look at their son.  It seems that he had been taking lessons from an older gentleman at this facility who only took on a few students.  When they told me it was Van, I told them to put an extra $5 or $10 in the check and hope that he continued to work with their son.  They didn't have a clue.  That is how humble Van was.

I really respect your opinions, and I enjoy reading your posts.  I just don't think you need to be "sensitive".  That sounds like you are poking fun at what I am saying, and I don't think I was wrong at all.  I am just asking for you to impart your wisdom without being abrasive.  If you need to be stern with your response, in order to make sure the OP gets your message, that is fine.  Let him know the real, potentially dangerous repercussions of his careless/thoughtless act, but you can word it a little bit better than shut up.  You are a much more intelligent poster than that.  I think you know exactly what I meant.

What is a "national crosschecker?" Spellcheck doesn't recognize that word.

You made your point the first time, Ryno.  Now you're getting redundant.

BTW, I told Bum, Jr. many times to shut up and play.  He understood my intent.  A kick in the butt can be the equivalent of a year's worth of counseling sessions.

In 1998, Delmon Young age 13 was selected for the Area Code games by the Pro Scouts, including 5 National Crosscheckers. We received a few complaints from parents of HS juniors, however since players do not pay to play, the scouts and I had the final word as to the roster.

During the special BP day at spacious Blair Field, Delmon hit 6 balls over the wall.

He later played in our Japan and Australia Goodwill Series and now the ML.
