I was just wondering if anyone has heard of or used MyInstantReplay.com recruiting website? I just found the site the other day and was looking around it. It offers a place to post all your information and then allows you to email it to any college coach in any sport. I'm wondering if anyone thinks it would be worth the money to sign up? I believe it's $50 per month for the site. They seem to promote themselves as a marketing site more than a recruiting site.

There is a much better website I found that does the same thing and is much cheaper. It is solely focused on Baseball and is only $99 for one year. I have mentioned it to other members of Baseball Web in past posts.
The website is called eBaseballClub.com (www.ebaseballclub.com) and I have saved on my Favorites. They too do not market themselves as being recruiters. In fact they use a unique phrase "On-Line Showcase".
They also have another website called "eProBaseballClub.com" which allows players to get into Independent Minor League Baseball teams. That site is www.eprobaseballclub.com.

I am a founder of myinstantreplay.com and I think we are very different from ebaseballclub.com in that we do not consider ourselves a "database" that coaches search for players. We put the control in the hands of the player and let them search colleges by the sports they offer, by division, by state and provide links to college websites so parents can get accurate information. We provide a marketing template with all the information a college coach would need to make an honest evaluation, including video. We are more expensive, but we support every NCAA sanctioned sport, not just baseball. I like to think we are a fairly priced service which helps parents and athletes efficiently find and market themselves to schools they have an interest in. It was built to serve as a tool for parents/players to find the right fit, regardless of athletic ability, for a very important decision.
To jw - I apologize about my initial response. I did not mean to imply that eBaseballClub.com was BETTER than your website. The way I should have stated it was that eBaseballClub.com was different and a cheaper alternative. I still stand by my belief, though, that eBaseball is a great value at a good price.
Yes, I agree, ghouse, TR has WAY too much time on his hands. I see responses from him everyday on this site. He always has an answer to a question or nitpicks, like the way he did to jw's response.
To those who think I have too much time on my hands Please be advised:

I am retired and at home so I am not using my employers time to be on this site.

I also want those that post and read here to undertstand certain aspects of the recruiting process as best I can. I think I might know something about the process and be able to help people

I am also an moderator, as per request of the site owner, on the site so I guess you could say it is part of my "job" to spend time here.

As for "nit picking" as you call it, I don't see it as such. I see it as helping the newcomers to the process to know what is out there and what is offered.

Call me cynical if you wish but I have always been that way and particularly on the internet where all too many people are not "real".

Wow, I think that your comment is totally "OFF BASE".
It is no one's business as to why someone frequently posts.
I too am "retired", more or less my employers choice due to a serious accident. I stay indoors frequently due to the hot weather, which is unbearable everywhere this summer.
Have been on the boards frequently to help with the recruiting process as well, receive many emails a day helping others in the process. And I am not in the business at all to profit, I do it for enjoyment.
Ghouse,
Can you say the same?
I do not always agree with TR's approach, but I will back him up anyday when it comes to his motives to help others.

How does that work???

TRhit,

We are more expensive ( $440/year as opposed to $99/year) that is just a fact, but our site is for every sport sanctioned by the NCAA, not just baseball. Fairly priced is subjective, but I think we offer great value for a reasonable price. And ILbaseball1, no offense taken, I just wanted to try to better explain our approach. The goal is to help kids get to schools where they can play and succeed, regardless of sport or skill level. I think this forum goes a long way to helping parents and players alike gather some great information on the process. Myinstantreplay.com is just another tool to help parents and players be proactive and to do so effectively and efficiently.
Tiger paw, you picked the wrong person to ask that question to, because actually I can say the same.

I have run a free site for 5 years that has no sponsors or advertisers of any kind and has cost me hundreds of dollars in hosting fees and thousands of hours of my time to write, produce, and maintain...I am bob, minus the donations and fanfare.

TR, can you tell me where your previous posts on either of these services mentioned above accomplished your goal of...

-------------------
I see it as helping the newcomers to the process to know what is out there and what is offered.
-------------------

All you did was make a dumb comment about symantics that was neither informative or helpful to other people on the board?
ghouse

Lets not start the go 'round again-- I asked a question of the poster from Harrisburg--he has answered me in apolite and gentlemanly manner

You, ONCE AGAIN, decided to jump in and say your piece in a very condescending manner---now you say I made a "dumb comment"==it wasn't a comment it was a question.

I was not degrading the Harriburg site-- I was asking a question regarding certain wording

Part of being a moderator is trying to have people understand what is being said and offered-- and in no way did I downgrade the mans site or his purpose--I simply asked a question

I will leave it at that--there is no more to say to you--
One More thing

Let me say this--I am not here to be"liked"or "disliked"--I am here to help--- this isn't a popularity contest-- the bottom line is for the player to get to college--if you do not like my approach then do not get on my boat--if you do like my method then you are for a great ride

I am not offended by those who don't want to be with us nor those that post venemously against me-- it is free society so they can chose as they wish and there are those who have chosen to go another route and then called in the spring asking for assistance-- we helped as much as we can because the kids are the bottom line

We are here for the players

I'd like to know if jwrabel has made a contribution to MN-Mom for advertising his site?

Ghouse,
You can say the same, NOT. You have a book to sell, right? Weren't you the one who emailed me once and wanted to pick my brain? If I am wrong, sorry, if not, get my point?

Tiger Paw,
Don't know who or what MN-mom is and no I did not contribute to anyone. I just wanted to tell our story and based on this being a recruiting board that had a post about us in May, thought it would be a good place to do it. It sounds like this board has helped alot of people. Did not mean to offend, and hope I haven't done that.
Whats with all the hostility....

It's just a game remember....

With that said I'll add my two cents which is worth a penny!

Recruiting services, data bases, do it your self...any any other service that is out there, in my opinion there is no one way to be recruited that is right for everybody.

If you have a high D-1 player that has national recognition from showcases, tournaments, maybe you don't need as much...

If you are a D-1 talent without the exposure maybe you need more than a video or a do it yourself approach.

To me whatever you decide to do as long as you feel it is right for you... is the right answer.

If we were to poll (which I am not recommending) I would imagine there has been success and failures in all approaches. The human factor of the player, coaches who see you geography, school needs, financial needs and a million other factors impact recruiting.... if there was an easy answer we'd know it.

Thanks!
Novice - I could not agree with you more.
There is no ONE right way to recruit. When I mentioned eBaseballClub.com in my original post, I did not do so because I felt it was the ONLY way to recruit. Like Novice said "There is no one way to be recruited that is right for everybody."
I mentioned the site because I found it to be an an AID in the recruiting process. Every little bit of help only facilitates a player playing ball at as school that is right for that player. I feel sorry for those who have been around for awhile and have bad experiences with recruiting websites and the alike. There are always bad apples that spoil it for the bunch. For every bad experience, there are lots of good experiences with these type of sites. I hope that they see that SOME sites are very sincere in their efforts.
The thing that has kept my loyalty to eBaseball is that the people you speak to on the phone are very knowledgeable, they are sincere in there wishes to help young people, and they have testemonials on their website. The site can bring exposure to kids that might not otherwise have the time or money to get the exposure. Like everyone else on these boards, I want to share MY experience with these sites and mine has been that this site is a great AID for to getting exposure to college coaches.
