I know a coach who was at a lower level D1 in your area. He also coached at a competitive NAIA, he told me his NAIA would beat the brakes off his D1 and it would only be competitive with their Friday guy.

He did say as a whole NAIA was top heavy and there was a significant drop off whereas almost all D1/D2 teams can hold their own in some capacity

@PABaseball is correct. The top 25 NAIA schools are very good. The top 4 or 5 could compete with anybody. NAIA is often the final destination for Dominican & Puerto Rican players that are good baseball players but not good academically. But the range from top to bottom is huge - bigger than JuCo. The best of NAIA is really good but at the other end of the spectrum are low level NAIA schools that play really bad baseball. I mean really bad. Our nationally ranked D2 JuCo played a middle of the road NAIA in the fall (starters vs starters) and it was only mildly competitive. We won easily. In contrast, we also played a top 50 D2 program in the fall. We won but it was very competitive.
