While I'm not sure about that rule in particular, I do know that any game/scrimmage against outside competition must be counted against the NAIA team's game limitations, and any player who participates against outside competition must be certified as eligible during the semester of the competition.

MOST of the rules are more similar to NCAA rules than they are to JUCO rules.
Grateful, you are correct ... and it's even allowable for a D1 NCAA team to have a fall scrimmage (in instances where they can't fill their spring schedule) because fall games count against the total and don't bring in any revenue.

With the other changes (keeping the same number of allowable games and compressing the schedule to 12 weeks), a lot of teams will be forced into a 5 game/week schedule or else just sacrifice some games and not play at all (that they might as well play in the fall). It's going to be interesting to see if fall games return over the next couple years.
