It was good to see Milligan finally put it all together in one game. They had 8 runs on 13 hits in the game. Brett "Sonny" Seybert went 6 2/3 innings in relief and slammed the door on Bethel. He allowed no runs on 2 hits and struck out 9 in a dominating performance.
Justin Hite will get the start tonight against Brevard. Should be a good game, it usually is when Milligan and Brevard get together. See you there.
Seybert "disappeared" from the beginning of the season until the tournament, but he's had two outstanding outings in a row. A huge pick-me-up for the pitching staff.
Hite had one stretch this season where he threw 3 consecutive 7-inning shutouts in conference play. Milligan needs a similar performance tonight. Brevard is the hottest team in the conference, winning the tournament from the 6-seed position, and besting nationally ranking Spalding yesterday.
