Anyone heard of these folks, or know if they are used or legitimate? National Player Ratings (NPR)abpabaseball.com. My son (and I) keep getting e-mails, wanting 2018 to attend and get a rating from them. Have never heard of them (PG, yes, PBR, yes). Thanks!

Hve recieved same emails here in IL. Nick milspaugh is the same attached.For whatever reason I know that name from some where.
If it's the emails that have been received in the past, they actually ask for your information to input in to their database. They don't do any of the evaluations...just reports on what you give them.

Once they hit 10th grade, Perfect game ranks them. I believe they are ranked individually through the first 250, then grouped as 250-500, top 500, etc. They also rank by state and position. I think college coaches trust PG. I know since my son made the list, we have been getting more interest :-)

Baseball Factory is a another national rating service. Unlike Perfect Game, Baseball factory visits more locations. But in using both BF and PG we noticed that BF seems more geared to ratings/connections with the pros. BF measures more criteria (such as home to first times). Both services tend to give players better ratings the more events/showcases/camps the player goes to. The major league invites had no fees; I have heard that some rating services waive fees for certain recruits (top kids) in a way to attract others. The bottom line is once you get a list of schools your son is interested in, find out where they recruit-- what services they use.We found the Showball Showcases very helpful; much exposure (MegaCamp had 100 coaches); you get a rating from one of the coaches at camps end. One ACC school does most of its recruiting at Top96 Demarini (Now Under Armour) camps which also give you a rating.

Under Armor and Baseball Factory are one in the same, right? Not gonna hammer anyone, but went to one of the Baseball Factory events when my son was in middle school. Just wanted to see how he compared to others his age. Well run with some good people. 2018 was invited to all kind of expensive events after that event. Of the 40-50 kids at this event, I saw three who were legitimate. I know that a multitude of those kids were invited to those same expensive week long camps. I lost a little faith at that point. I know PBR in my area does a pretty good job, and obviously PG (not blowing smoke). That is where we will focus our efforts going forward. Good travel ball (prep ball) team, and good showcases, seems like a good path from what I read on here.
