NC HS transfer question

I am currently home schooled but I will transferring to my local public school in the second semester of the 2012-2013 school year.I know there are a few people that are familiar with the NCHSAA rules on this forum.So my question is will I be able to play baseball that spring even though I didn't go the first semester.
I have heard different things from different people with the school.Because of that my parents and I are pretty confused right now.My brother did the same thing with out any problems but I know rules change so I wanted to make sure.
