Southpaw Pop,
Thanks for posting this, I didn't realize the pre-season polls were out so early. My son's team has a series scheduled against 17th-ranked St. Scholastica the end of April.

MN-Mom,
Your more than welcome. Just looking out for the small school players.
Received in Saturday's mail the latest schedule for HSU. Includes a new Spring Break, March 15 game against Pre-season #8. Marietta College, OH.

Southpaw Pop,
Cool, I think the boys really look forward to the games against the best teams - at least mine does! Best of luck to your son this year, although from what I read I don't think he needs much help!!!

Glad to see some D III ink. My older son's school (and younger son's too come next fall), Christopher Newport University, has three initially ranked foes-Ferrum, Mary Washington, and Hampden-Sydney.
I'm just delighted I'll get to see most games; aftet two years of having to drive over 7 hours to see a home game, the three hour trip to CNU is a breeze! Opening game is February 11, and while I know it's in Tidewater, ALL of this state is normally cold on February 11. Any websters with sons playing against CNU please look me up!

Quite a few area schools (for us) in the rankings with Ferrum, HSC, UMW, and Lynchburg. Bridgewater should be tough competition for HSC and Lynchburg in the ODAC, as well. I suspect Methodist and "that school in Newport News" should give Ferrum a run in the USA South.
Like hello JT! Doesn't sound as if you are too optimistic about Hampden-Sydney's chances this year....
Well....all we have to say is....GO TIGERS! Ranked #12 in the poll.....and regionally..... only Ferrum ahead of them......
We are more optimistic in this H-SC household.....

Coach Kinne has the HS program on a roll

Way to go H-SC.....and Coach Kinne too.....

Son's school is ranked 7th. I hope they maintain that ranking. It should be a fun season. Moved from 42 on last season's pre-season poll, I believe to #9 post season so had quite a season. Can't wait! It sure would be nice to go to the World Series. One game away last yr. but Rowan usually always has a good team.
Coach Ranero at Rowan has a very successful track record (Barry University, Old Dominion, Appalachian State and a prior stint at Rowan). No reason to think they won't have another outstanding year. Of course the players have to get it done on the field.
THe Pre-season for DIII is difficult, because nobody can quantify the new recruits or up and coming teams...only those that were there last season at the end are preseason at the beginning...but my guys definately look forward to the 6 nationally ranked games on our schedule...AZred see ya in Feb!
VJC.....we won't be at H-SC for the February tournament.....but a word of advise....play hard....you'll need to when you face that H-SC team.....I hear they are tough, talented, and ready for baseball!
