Just checking to insure we dont make mistakes...........My son is starting his junior year in high school, 1. Should he register with the NCAA now. 2. He is scheduled to take his sat's in march, is this a problem?
I would only add to what iheartbb has said, and that is try to have son take SAT in a second sitting, too. Research shows that scores increase with a second sitting. Have him take subject tests in May (when the APs are given - so if he is taking any APs he doesn't have to study twice). Also, if possible, try not to have him take any tests again in senior year- very tough to get back into the study mode after the summer. Perhaps also consider taking the ACT (with writing - not every school needs the writing, but some do, and so don't limit the choices).
but if he does retake in senior year (many do, it is just a little tough to re-study for it), then make sure he doesn't take them too late for the applications deadlines.
