While I admit I have been away for a while, I was surprised to see how quiet the NE board is, not a lot of posts...I guess when it is 10 degrees and snowy a lot people are not thinking baseball...here are some topics...
1) the growth of indoor baseball training centers - Extra Innings is franchising and has several in the cue, Frozen Ropes is adding a facility in NEedham, Hit Dog CLosed, Paul Rappoli opened his own place RBI in Foxboro, The Ponds of Norwood is converting some of its space for baseball cage time rentals, Acton Indoor sports has added baseball - am I missing any?
There is no shortage of places to practice during the winter, that is the good news. I think the bad news is that it can get pretty darn expensive to hit at these places. Any good "home made indoor/garage" stories out there?
2) Astro Turf - Field Turf is invading the Northeast and the rest of the country. Is it good for baseball, bad, does not matter. I think any high school that can have it, should, most due to our awful spring weather.
just a few things to toss into the mix for anyone who wants to discuss
