There's an awful lot of history in that part of the state.

They are known by me for having the best darn concession stand this side of the Mississippi and some real good HS baseball teams over the past years. Oh, and a high tech announcer who loves baseball as much as me.

I like the Strasburg Swing. They used the Swing in the movie "Sugar," a baseball movie I watched last night.

Their concession is top-level! Our concession stand at R. Charles Stadium at JWHS during the Post 21 Days would rival that one when I helped Coach Miller run the legion program from 2005 thru 2007.

Coach Barnes was with Post 21 the summer of 2007, he knows what that concession was like. Plus he was with Post 53 for 2006 and maybe 2005? Now, I don't believe there is any concession stand within the Shenandoah Valley that comes anywhere close to the one at "1st Bank Park" in Strasburg!

When I first read this topic, I was thinking about Stephen Strasburg rather than Strasburg, VA. So, this nickname isn't as relevant now, but I'll throw it out there anyway.

The Strasborgs (first cousin to cyborgs)...I originally thought of this because Stephen Strasburg apparently isn't human. But I'm not sure it's still viable now that I know the actual context of the request.

Let's hope Strasburg doesn't spit the bit like the city of Richmond did last year in renaming its minor league team: The Flying Squirrels! Are you kidding me?!

The name Flying Squirrels was definitely my last choice initially, but it has grown on me. And the logo are all pretty sweet. I think it's a great minor league nickname and looking back I think it was by far the best of the options available.

The infield underwent $25k overhaul several years ago as it's one of the best infields in the area.

Yes, their infield is legit!

I'll get updated pics in about 4-6 weeks after some more major work is scheduled to be done.

Will the Express carry any DIII players on the roster?

Yes.

There are some players from some schools I don't know listed on there, but I do see Oneonta, Randolph-Macon, and Methodist players on the roster, and I know those at least are D-III programs.
