Hey everyone. A friend of mine has just recently applied early-decision to an Ivy League school. He had spoken to the coach, and everything seemed to have gone as planned; he met the academic band that was agreed upon, and was told he had a spot.
On top of his applying early, he received a lot of attention from other schools. This interest has continued throughout the fall, and they still continue to speak to him. He realizes they are backups, but does not know how to tell them he has applied elsewhere early without jeopardizing their interest. Remember, these are his 'backups' and will be necessary if anything with the early app. school does not go as planned.
Another inquiry he has is whether the coach can hint at the admission decision before the official notices come out. He realizes the coach is not allowed to call him, but can talk if contacted. Are coaches allowed to disclose any information regarding an acceptance?
If anyone could answer these questions pertaining to division one/ivy league athletics, please help. Similar situations/any guesses would be of great help. Thanks in advance!
