One out - man on first - count is 1-1. Man on first attempts steal - pitch is foul tipped into catchers glove. Catcher throws runner out at second. Is this a foul ball or a legit throw out by catcher. I have $10 on this - I say foul ball - son, catcher, says it the same as the situation if the count was 2-2 and it is a legit put out. I don't mind losing the $10 but having him know more then me will drive me nuts!!!!!
To our military men, women and families - You are all awesome - that flag is yours and I thank you for the opportunity for giving me the honor of removing my cap prior to every baseball game I see.

Get out your wallet. Cool From MLB rulebook:

A FOUL TIP is a batted ball that goes sharp and direct from the bat to the catcher's hands and is legally caught. It is not a foul tip unless caught and any foul tip that is caught is a strike, and the ball is in play. It is not a catch if it is a rebound, unless the ball has first touched the catcher's glove or hand.

Key phrase "and the ball is in play".
