I understand your frustration, and I suppose you are just venting it out here, to bounce off of us. That's ok,... we will be glad to help, but I think you will find that most of us will tell you that you have to roll with the opportunities handed to you and you have to make the best of it. Sounds kinda cliche' I realize, but there is truth in that statement. You and only YOU can enjoy this sport no matter what position you are asked to play. Think of it this way,...you are getting overall experience, and the depth of your perception of the game is deepening. In otherwords, you are getting to learn what each position is like to play, & with that you are becoming more well rounded. Just like in college and highschool,..its good to get a taste of every subject ( anthropology, spanish, cooking ) even if you know you want to be an astronaut. Your knowledge is expanding and that can only help to benefit you in the long run.
You are learning how to deal with situations that are not necessarily going your way. ( LIFE LESSON )
Rec ball, IMHO is for fun, for learning, and for keeping you in the game.
Each repititon is better than none at all.
Remember,...its a t-e-a-m sport,..and everyone, not only you, should get a fair shot at finding the position they want to play.
Your question:
quote:
How can i tell the coach to play me at my postions with out sounding like a Jack***?
Here's the bottom line ( IMHO ):
You cant.
He's the coach, he makes the decisions.
But,..what you CAN do is show him, not with your words, but with your actions. He may be trying to see who has an attitude and who doesn't. He may be trying to see who is coachable, who tries hard no matter where they are put, and who is willing to adapt and overcome.
I think you will find that many players are asked to play multiple positions depending on the needs of the team.
You have to give it 110% from the gutt, any place, any time.
No surface stuff.
Don't say you are the best,...BE the best.
Best role model, best sportsman, best athlete, best fundraiser, best field raker, best team mate, in addition to best hitter, best fielder, etc.
Have fun,..enjoy the game, make personal goals, and play hard!!!
Remember,...playing baseball is much more than just learning how to play the game fundamentally. It's teaching you how to play in the game of life!
