Hi all,

I recently posted about advice on my skills video, and the main concern was the music. I made some edits, and would like to know what you guys think: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQS5tiexPq8

I will have a chance to re shoot and add in material soon, so any advice on what to add/replace would be great. I will for sure add a behind the plate angle for hitting and better gb reps at shortstop. Also I will try to make the video shorter.

Thanks for your advice

Two things that jumped out at me.

  1. I would eliminate the two bunts you show during BP.  Not sure that adds much to what you want recruiters to see.  You have game footage of bunting in the video.  If bunting is a big part of your offensive skillset and one that is called upon frequently, then keep the game footage of bunting, but dump the BP portion.
  2. During the live game action you have the verbiage ". . .Sophomore Skills and Highlight Video".  I'd I'd replace "Sophomore" with "2017 Grad".  Reason being that you are no longer a sophomore, so you'd need to edit that each year.  If you put your grad year, no further edits would be needed.
  3. If you have the sound of hitting during the BP swings, it's always good to leave that in.  More impact if you are hearing contact.
  4. Finally, good balance of game footage to combine footage, but some of the angles aren't very good. The first couple you're completely blocked from the footage by the umpire, so other than seeing the direction you hit the ball, you're not showing anyone anything.  The shot at 4:27 is much better because it shows a good angle of your live swing, then follows the ball a bit to show result.  You're probably limited in what game footage you have available to you, so if you have someone shoot more in the future, have them keep that in mind when shooting.
