Who was Hoover playing? I assume this is the same Hoover that is known for its football?

Yes, Hoover same as "two-a-days" school - but the baseball team hadn't won a state championship in 27 years ...

Hoover was not even ranked in state - Hoover was playing Opelika H.S. - Opelika had a record of 42-2 - ranked approx 5th to 25th in the nation. Long story - but Hoover got hot in the playoffs (sorta like Fresno St.) - lots of great stories of the game within the game...

Even though it was just LL my son's LL all-star team was down 6-3 with two outs and no one on in the bottom of the 6th. I remember the 12th player on the roster yelling, "Make some **** noise. It's not over yet." Five hitters later it was a walk off victory. Somehow I believe the last kid on the roster who had already done his minimum playing time and was out of the game, had a lot to do with the victory.

The best part of that video is the coach jumping onto the "dog pile"

Congratulations to the players and coaches on their victory,....and a big thank you to the parents who composed this lifetime memory video and were willing to share with the rest of us.
