Wondering about great comebacks people have had. We had a thriller last nite in 1st summer game in tournament. We were down 4-1 with 2 outs nobody on in bottom of last inning (other team scored with only 2 hits we had a couple walks and throwing error-we had 6 hits but ball was not bouncing our way). Kid hits single--walk--another walk--bases loaded--kid hits bases clearing double tie game--we win 5-4 in 1st extra inning--what a way to start the season. Did feel bad for other team was a tough loss. We lost a similar game a couple years ago and was worse because it was a semi-final in a big tournament. Was happy this tournament didn't have time limit or settle for tie, baseball isn't meant to end in tie or have time limit. The boys never hung there heads, looks like a fun season ahead.

Baseball Dad 46,

That was a great comeback; I'll bet the parents were on the edge of their seats!

Here is one that was not as dramatic, but the stakes were pretty high:

CPLZ is out of state today, watching his son's team (ARMY) in the regional tourney. ARMY lost a close one yesterday against #1 seed Texas (3-1 final score). So today's game was "Win or Go Home" time - against the #2 seed, Texas State.

"With temperatures climbing into the low-90s and the playing surface temperature soaring above 105 degrees, the fourth-seeded Black Knights took the blazing field less than 16 hours after suffering a hardfought 3-1 loss to No. 1 national seed and host Texas Friday night. After falling behind Texas State 2-0 and 4-2 (in the 7th inning) on Saturday, Army battled from behind to record the second NCAA Regional win in school history and the second triumph in the Black Knights’ last two trips to the postseason."

ARMY won 7-4 and will play another elimination game tomorrow.

Great job, ARMY!

I think I was at this game myself and it was a fun game to watch. Early in the season for both team I think so I like watching how teams I believe so there is much to learn from a game like that.
MN-Mom--Go Army ---msclbr--you probably here-Standard Bank? Pitcher for Crystal Lake was tough did a great job. Felt bad for you guys had to play right after agianst tough foe and 8:30a.m. agianst another very good team--cards were stached agianst you--great job. We lost a heart-breaker last nite 2-1. My son pitched had 9k--0 walks--4 hits 2 down right field line 1 inches fair--the other very questionable, another outfielder missed pop-up but didnt touch so no E, had 4E's in game which is very rare for 1 E for are team, tough loss but give other team credit no E's. Kids want another shot at them in bracket play--We have played them for years always great games but first time they beat us.

Yep, I was the one out coaching 3rd for CL. We're still learning to play up with some of these teams and if we communicate better on a short flyball and not worry so much about the umpires strike zone we may have come out on top. It's all a learning experience for them. It is always good competition in Crestwood. I chose to have that schedule. Even though we did not win a game in the tourney we played well and hopefully we will learn from the mistakes we made and make the improvements we need to make to get better as the summer goes along.
Best of luck to you guys on Monday.
MN-Mom--Yes-go army . msclbr--Yeah I hear you-our kids didn't care for strike zone either. But as I tell my son "If the ump calls it a strike it's a strike!" I know when my son pitches I sit very far away so I can't see if they are balls or strikes . Last nite we won in last at bat agian, but gave up 3 runs without a ball leaving the infield Mad. Our #12 hitter just crushed a game tying triple--farthest hit of tournament so far . Anyway best of luck to you guys this summer I think you have a very good team and will have a fun summer.
