Here's one I've never seen before: 7U catcher ends up in the center of a dust devil, kid of like the Tasmanian devil in the old Warner Bros. cartoons. Very nice job by the umpire, too.

Seen this about 4 or 5 times playing down here in south Texas. Seems to happen most in closed off stadium style seating. Wind gets spun up (trapped) right around home plate area. Worst one was at Hill College last summer. Stayed over home plate for about 30 seconds. It looked to be about 30-40 feet high.

There has been crazy stuff going on at Hill’s ballpark for more than 50 years. Has to be one of the consistently most windy ballparks in America.
