Torrey Pines Falcons Break Into Top 25 Baseball America National Poll - www.tpfalcons.com dwarf

BASEBALL AMERICA High School Top 50 NATIONAL RANKINGS

DURHAM, N.C.--The Woodlands (Texas) High remained on top of the Baseball America/National High School Baseball Coaches Association poll for the third straight poll, but there were plenty of other changes as many teams begin their postseason play.

The Woodlands beat previous No. 6 Brenham (Texas) High 7-2 in its final tune-up before the postseason. The Highlanders have not lost since March 4 and have been ranked No. 1 for more than a month.

Nova High (Davie, Fla.) lost twice in a three-week span to open a slot for Jackson High (Mill Creek, Wash.), which moved to No. 2 on the strength of a 3-0 first-round playoff victory against Marysville-Pilchuck (Marysville, Wash.). Jackson senior righthander Cam Nobles threw a complete game no-hitter to help the Timberwolves improve to 21-0.

This week's poll had 14 new teams in the Top 50, as 40 ranked teams lost at least once since the previous poll.

The staff of Baseball America and the National High School Baseball Coaches Association compile the Top 50 rankings. In-season polls are conducted every other week, with the final poll released June 12. Records indicated as of May 7 and do not include ties.

Way to go Falcons! Way to start the Year.

But, Eric’s Dad, you may want to curtail your crowing until you have won the SD-CIF. There’s still a lot of games left, and in double elimination CIF, TP will still have to play the RB, Poway, LCC, Fallbrook (rated above you) Vista, and so on.

Good Luck to you and your son!

Has Eric signed a NLI yet?
rockband Hello Bullwinkle - Please forgive me if it sounded like i was crowing - just very proud of our boys and the entire San Diego Section - which seems to get overlooked a lot. As far as CIF - we look forward to it and playing the best teams out there... just like the Lions tournament - as far as rankings - very superficial when it come to playoffs everyone is even - Most poll have us ranked higher than Fallbrook - only one i have seen with Fallbrook higher is BA..... i prefer maxpreps.com RPI rankings - no polotics just numbers.... as far as RB going to CIF this year - that would be a stretch seeing they are in the cellar.... Thres nothing wrong with posting a previously NR team on a message board - thats good news... for the boys and all the teams in San Diegov-every team we lost to this year - we beat ourself.... no-one has jusT DOMINATED US... always an error or 2 in the seventh and 1 run loss.... i never would have guessed our team would do this well this season - we are all taken back a little.... this is not war - just baseball... sometimes you win and sometimes you lose - but we keep on playing... we are waiting till after July on NLI's..... we hope to see Fallbrook again in CIF - perhaps in final or semi final?

Sorry to hear about your loss to LCC yesterday...

Don't ever count RB out, Blalock won't allow it.

San Diego County....specifically North San Diego County has been known for years as a hotbed of Ballplayers. Ask anyone who truely knows this game.

The Lions always tells the truth about a staff pitchers and really gives a great idea whos who for CIF.

Lastly, I knew that TP would be stong this year, this is no suprise.

Bullwinkle does not have a player on Fallbrook Varsity.....did and will soon, but not this year.

If you want any views on local College programs, specifically west coast teams, just PM me.

PS: Bullwinkle will be at the SDSU Gywnn's park tonight @ 6:00pm....although I have been told Bullwinkle is tricky to locate.

As indicated above, #6 Brenham, Texas just lost a non-district game to #1 The Woodlands, Texas. While Brenham plays a lot of large schools in tournaments and non-district games, they are a much smaller school than the Woodlands. Brenham is the favorite to win the Texas 4-A championship and The Woodlands are the favorite for the 5-A championship.
San Diego CIF will come down to Pitching and Defense as usual. Torrey finally lost yesterday but Fallbrook, RB, and Mission Bay will all have a shot. Should be an interesting CIF sections coming up and I am hoping to catch a couple of games. RB and Torrey Play tomorrow so I am planning on attending that game. Should be fun!
