Ok im not sure where to go with this question, so I came to you. I here High School Baseball is changing the stamps on the required -3 bats the boys have to use. This is apparently causing all the teams and kids to buy new bats for next year. Is this true? and if so, thats one hell of a ploy the bat companies got going on to make some serious bank.

Convince the I$HA to switch to wood and it won't be a problem. Wood bats are considerably cheaper and the BBCOR is about making a metal bat act more like wood (not completely). Just go wood and be done with it!

They will still be good in SrLL and travel ball. This was a three year warning so it isn't something that just got sprung on the coaches.
Well it might be old news to you but this is the first year we have heard of it. Im sure im not alone here ether. Plus I dont know to many kids in Sr league that would choose to use a -3 over a -5 or on up.
I have umpired Doug since his son played AL which has been quite a few years ago. Doug is fine as long as you know what you are doing and know how to handle coaches. Don't show weakness or look unsure, he will eat you alive.
I have worked at SATB but not a lot. It is a nice facility with some good umpires. There are some marginal ones too but that is expected in travel ball.
Some of the middle schools come down and play some of the private schools and the few public schools that have middle school. Unfortunately not many public schools have them.
