saw that the other day, was wonderun the same.
Heard some talk at son's HS practice this will happen in HS also.
Personally, I think it's a bad rule change. I would like to hear the logic behind the change.
If it's to speed up the game, it may reduce a game by 1 minute, if that.
Has anyone considered the move might speed up the game? The move can also get another out quicker.
Batters can still back out of batters box between pitches. Pitchers can try a pick off to a bag unlimited times and that should never change.
If the logic is "deception"..... with a runner at 2nd base, they still allow a right hand pitcher's left leg lift crossing his right leg, then pitcher spins to 2nd base leading with his left foot. Vis-versa for the lefty pitcher. Isn't that a deceptive move?

Good rule. Pitchers aren't athletic enough to do all that mumbo jumbo.
Seems like they should outlaw the move to second too then if trying to save time...crazy. May be trying to enhance the running game and create more runs. Great for the entertainment business of the MLB...not so great for the competitive sport of non pro ball.
I have not heard of this moving into HS ball.. if so it will take a few years.
The rule that needs to change is the HS Balk rule. Currently when the pitcher commits a balk it is an immediate dead ball. I wish they would change it to a delayed dead ball like NCAA and MLB.
