NYDAD2017,

I realize you likely don’t know the answers to these questions unless you’re really involved in the process, but if you do would you please let us know?

Does #3 mean if school A is playing school B, school C can ask to see the “charts”?

Assuming the game is complete and the provisions of #5 have been met, what’s done with the NYSPHSAA form? Are the results recorded somewhere or do the forms just get shoved in some file?

Is there any peer review of the process to look for violations or is it left to the individual scools to do the policing?

Sorry guys. Had a lengthy, unexpected disruption of Internet service here. High winds are to blame.

If you pitch on Monday, that evening is considered 1 night of rest.

Stats...  you are correct, I'm not personally involved in this. But, from what I've been told, any team can check another teams pitching stats.

I do not know, as of yet, what they will do with the forms or how they will be held accountable.

All I know is 3 days rest after throwing 95 pitches is a joke. Fortunately my son is not a pitcher.

I think the 95 limit on two days rest is simply too high.  Assuming a Tuesday/Saturday start schedule, a pitcher could throw 105 on Tuesday, come back on Saturday and throw 95 and come back that next Tuesday and start all over.  What does the "typical" New York high school season look like with respect to games/week and typical playing days of the week?

Obviously, because of the weather, our season is somewhat shortened. They have approximately 6 weeks of regular season during which they play 20 games. So there is usually at least 3 games a week. But I've seen as much as 5 games in a week when weather has resulted in cancellations.

Days of the week vary widely. There is no regular schedule.

The reason I asked is because I don’t see how anything is being held in a way that’s accountable. FI, in Co and many other states it’s mandatory that the pitch counts be posted in MaxPreps. Once that’s done anyone can look at the data. But in NY there doesn’t seem to be any such requirement other than the schools will be required to maintain the data.

To me that means if I want to check it, I’ve got to contact somebody at each school I want to check, and I don’t know who that somebody will be. It just seems to me to be a really inefficient way to do it, and could impose a real PITA on the schools.

Stats, you are correct. They're going to have issues with this unless they make some changes.
