Congrats boys. That's how to represent the state of NH. I have to say the score was not as close as you would think an 11-8 game would be. Maine scored most of their runs in 1 inning with only 1 hit. NH pitching was dominant overall. I am confident in saying this Senior Allstar team would compete against any state in the Northeast!!

It was a very good event.  I agree, the game didn't feel as close as the score suggested.  Nice day, got to meet some nice people whose kids I had been reading about all these years, and see some old friends too.  A little sad, the final event my oldest son will have representing his school, but all part of the process.  Good luck to all the boys, I know many are continuing to play in college.

I wish I could have gone... I wasn't sure how long things would go and had to be back in Merrimack, NH to umpire a Legion game by 415P. Although considering my son was the cause of 5 Maine runs - maybe it was better I was at home :-). I'm told at first he didn't miss by much and then got a bit too wild... Oh well - he had pitched over 100 a couple days earlier, but that's no excuse for not throwing a strike in what amounts to an exhibition game. At least my son did have his grandparents and uncle come to watch.  Although they didn't see him do as well on the mound as he would have liked - it wasn't a completely bad day as he did get a walk and sac fly.

Unfortunately for most around here - it's a friends and family type event.  Whether the Mainers had more representation at USM who knows... Even when it's around here - does it really get the publicity? Oh well - that's a different issue...

It was a great day at a great venue in Maine, and I definitely agree with 9and7, a sad day for parents watching as their son's high school careers come to an end.  I wouldn't mind watching the NH team play a 30-game schedule over 40 summer days. It is an honor to be a part of this event.

However, as JohnF alludes to, it is a bit disheartening that an event of this magnitude is not covered by the NH press.  Compared to football and basketball, and perhaps lacrosse, high school baseball in NH is basically riding in the trunk when it comes to public interest.

Under Armour is running a 16u and 18u showcase tournament this weekend at various venues in NH (SNHU, St. A's, Colby-Sawyer...) It appears that all the teams are from out of state, but NH will have a few representatives on the roster of Show Baseball Academy's 18u team.  (Clough,Con-Val,  Gasper, Merrimack, Mundy,Exeter,  Pratt, Bedford, Sahlin, Campbell,  Szczechowics, Trinity, Williams and Meli, BG)
