I believe a certain amount of that is posturing, and I know I do not have a right to discuss his true thoughts. At the same time I would find it difficult to believe he would turn down being one of the top 5 picks over all.

The bottom line, Nick is one of the best in the country and deserves the opportunity to even consider the option.
Nick is rated #1 in the country by Baseball America, and when it showed he signed with North Carolina, my only thought was, "Why?" It seems to me the #1 player in the country woul be able to go to a better program.

Maybe he wasn't worried about the program and liked the school, or maybe North Carolina has a good program I haven't heard about. I assume they are pretty decent to be getting the #1 player in the country. If anyone can let me know about the program that'd be great.

Mike Fox has done some great things with North Carolina, but I like you and several other people would have thought he would have used another college as leverage.

On the other hand, I know another player from here that all the big schools pulled back, basically accepting he was going in the draft and they decided not to pursue him anymore. His parents were honestly worried until one school came through and the draft made him a happy camper.

I do not know his true thoughts, but I truly believe he to, will be a happy camper come this June.
This makes two years in a row that U of North Carolina has had one of the very best recruiting classes in the nation.

Last year at this time no one thought that the nations top left hander (Andrew Miller) and one of the top right handers (Daniel Bard) would end up at Chapel Hill. But they are both there, along with highly ranked INF Craig Carrado and catcher Trent Kline.

This year's recruiting class may be even better yet. Even though Nick Adenhart and Andy Gale seem like good bets to go very early in the draft. (So were Miller and Bard last year)

Some of the top ranked players in the country have signed early with UNC. They include #1 ranked Adenhart, #6 ranked Gale, #22 ranked Mike Rozier (football/baseball), #40 ranked Luke Putkonen, #92 ranked Josh Horton, #114 ranked Matt Spencer, #141 ranked Andrew Carignan, #292 ranked Reid Fronk and other highly ranked players like Kyle Shelton, Benji Johnson, Matt Iannetta and others.

I believe UNC has to be considered a national power these days. No surprise what-so-ever that Adenhart chose UNC.
