Rick at Informed Athlete's recent email pointed out that a GoFundMe page asking for donations toward living expenses is NOT allowed for NIL because no service or deliverable is exchanged by the student-athlete.  my question, would it be permissible if the student-athlete set it up to provide an autographed photo for each participant in exchange for their financial support?

I'm guessing it's a gray area. There are definitely athletes doing paid autograph signings, so that appears to be permissible. There might some debate as to the real value of the autograph. Charge $100 for your autograph if you're not a known person might draw unwanted attention. And you definitely shouldn't use gofundme to do the selling since it's known as a fundraising platform. Maybe an eBay store or your own website with a shopping cart. Just speculating.
