I was there as well, this was my 1st PG event, I wasnt too happy that we only ran the 60 once, and there did seem to be alot of waiting, as with any showcase though. Plus any players who listed pitching as their secondary position were not allowed to showcase themselves as a pitcher(wasn't allowed to even throw a bullpen). However there seemed to be a lot of scouts in attendence, mostly major league, and there were some real good players there too, couple of Mooses!
The event is a one day event basically set up to get players into the Perfect Game system that have not done an event before, OR, it is set up for players who have been to an event to have the opportunity to better their numbers. The event cost $295, however, it is money well spent at any showcase and I have done them all. The players numbers are accurate and not inflated, each player gets a personal web page at the PG web site and yes, every player get a personal evaluation . .and it is the players evaluation, not just some generic write up where these other showcases just add a name to it . .If the other showcases even give an evaluation at the end. The biggest plus to the one day State Showcase events is that it sets up the players to be invited to some of the premier showcase events in the country. Perfect Game is definitely men amongst boys in the showcase business.
