For the past two weeks I have been watching the Instructional League in Arizona and have had the pleasure of watching Chris McConnell of the Royals play SS a few times. This young man can really play. He has great hands, a strong arm and hit bullets all over the field. I met him today and he is really a nice young man and I wish he was in our organization. Peg, you done good when you had this youngster. applaude

the boy i'm thinking of was (or looked like he was) wearing roller skates,as my son says he was dirty. made some very impressive double plays? my son was a lefty pitcher on the blue team. we went to a few showcases that summer and i tried to remember names to see what happened to the kids. did your son get drafted out of high school?congratulations to him even if he's not the same boy.
njbb, was just looking at the Pioneer league stats for your son on Baseball America. Boy, did he have a summer, or what. Played in almost every game, hits over .330, with power while putting up with lots of long bus rides. I am sure you must be very, very proud of Chris for what he did in his first summer of professional baseball, playing on other side of the US. I am sure you are proud of him for a lot of other reasons too.
Hope he has a productive offseason, enjoys some down time and heads to Spring Training with a full head of steam.
