Admission to a community college comes with only the requirement that a student graduate from high school. They like to have SAT or ACT scores, but they are not required.
My son will be attending a JUCO in the fall. Although they have his SAT scores, they do not yet have a completed transcript. When I spoke to admissions, their concern was only that they receive a final transcript by the end of the student's first semester.
Even if our students were not athletes, JUCOs are a wonderful way to cut back on college costs. Also, graduation from a JUCO guarantees admission into a four-year state school in some, if not most, states.
