Pitt Community College, the #2 Seed, fought back from the losers bracket winning 6 games, the last 2 against Louisburg, to win the Region 10 tournament. Congrats to Tidewater team members Pete Levitt, Mike Brogan, and Austin Wright.
Dory transferred to Newport News Apprentice School and playing baseball there. He has played well for them and their tournament starts this week at War Memorial.
Pete relieved in the third game. He is on restricted duty due to some mild tendonitis in his pitching elbow. He pitched well, his velocity was good 91-94 and he was getting good movement and late life.
By the way, as for the other Tidewater players on Louisburg...saw Zack Woods pitch the end of the Spartanburg Methodist game, which put SM in the losers bracket where they were next beaten by Pitt. He looked well in command and I believe pitched a complete game. Matt did well against Pitt, but did not get the offensive help he needed. And I will tell you that every time Tyler Loftus came to the plate, he was a real threat and got several key base hits in the games I saw him play in. He is a clutch hitter, and I would rather have him ON my team than play against him. Did not see the other Tidewater boys play.
