IBSA is a new startup organization. They started doing some stuff in the fall of 2004. They are out of Kentucky. To the best of my knowledge, this is their first venture into North Carolina.

They have a web site, but I don't know a thing about them or their organization. Check out
www.ibsasports.com and you will know as much about them as anyone down here probably.

Between AAU and USSSA, it will be a tough startup for them inside this state.
Sorry ... Been out of that age group for awhile. Most teams around here don't crank up that early at the age of 14. They play Middle School ball and there would be a conflict.

There are some teams and some AAU stuff cranked up, but very little wood bat. The Middle Schools hit with metal, so no real point.

There is an AAU event that weekend in Concord NC that goes up through the age of 14. Here is a link to the website.

There arent too many 14U wood bat tourneys that I know of.

I am the North Carolina area director for Terry Pendleton Baseball and we start wood bat tournaments at 15U. Those tournaments wont start until June (when high school winds down).

As for new organizations trying to hit the NC area, I wish them luck. The one thing that has helped us gain teams from the AAU & USSSA circuit is the name. People recognize Terry's name as the Braves hitting instructor and remember his playing days. Plus we offer other components like our D-1 Tour, Prospect Tracker, Independent Baseball Camps, JUCO All-Star games, etc. that will help keep teams and players coming back.
Thanks to both PhoenixDad (again)and ACBL for such qick responses. We are lookign to get our U14 team on the field versus good competition and the wood bat component seemed like a nice piece also. I understand that U14 may a bit young for wooden bat - it was just an interesting piece to that tournament. We would also consider metal bat tournaments and I thank PhoenixDad for mentioning the AAU event. I will definitely followup with them.

ACBL-does Terry Pendleton Baseball put on any U14 tournaments?
