There are many programs, especially in the south, that have batgirls or groups sometimes known as "Diamond Darlings". Years ago, after spending a couple of years down south as an assistant coach, my brother took a job back north and was welcomed with cries of sexism when he brought up the idea of having batgirls.

This past fall after my nephew committed to Georgia, I pointed out to him the batgirl page in the media guide. Then after checking out Georgia's website, I couldn't help noticing their Equestrian team. The number of athletes in their Equestrian program almost matches the size of a DI football team!

I don't think a few bat girls will have any influence on your son. I can't speak for northern colleges but down this way beautiful girls are fairly commonplace on the college campuses.

Good looking coeds are on every campus no matter where you go in the USA

Give Clemson credit for the very ladylike pictures of the "bat girls"-- they could have taken another route--- the pictures on the site are such that thay can be sent to Grandma

One other thing-- the kid who is truly into his baseball is not too concerned about things like this

Just stumbled on it and was amazed and glad to see such loyal support for baseball. Great idea, as much as I've perused college sites in the past I guess I just wasn't looking at the right Stats.
