Have you heard of warp speed? Imagine the opposite...that's the speed I type. More like worm speed.
I took a typing class in high school (I think the typewriter may have even been electric) and I topped out at 37wpm. I never lookd at the text of the typing test...I couldn't. I had to look at the keyboard. "The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy giraffe...or cheetah...or munchkin...or something like that."
I never deducted any points if I managed to spell everything correctly. If it was nonsense or gibberish it didn't matter in my mind so long as all of the words were spelled right.
I think my typing skills have diminished to the point where if I'm lucky I'll bang out 15 or 16 wpm. And I count contractions as two words so long as I remember the apostrophe.
