On April 22, Indian River will face the Grassfield Grizzlies in a key Southeastern District contest. The teams played each other last year at Harbor Park. On May 7th, the Lakeland Cavaliers and Oscar Smith Tigers will take the field before the Norfolk Tides-Toledo Mud Hens game.

Blue marlin, I assume that is the originally scheduled May 11 date being moved?

It would have been nicer if all the Harbor Park games had been moved to something other than the usual SED Tuesday / Friday game dates so that fans of other SED teams could attend without missing their games. The Oscar Smith / Lakeland game is on a Friday and conflicts with other SED games.

Mathews41,

Did you go to the Norfolk State/Tides game? It looks like it was a blast with a great turnout.
How was it?

Sorry no. Would have liked too. I am out of state this week for work in MD. Missed a whole lot of baseball this week. After reading about the game (I think Tuesday's Pilot), sounds like Norfolk State should schedule this game every year (proceeds went to support their program).

This should probably be it's own post (but it is a high school website/ I am going to say that since local players will be there this makes the cut). With my compliments (trying to broaden my horizons). Sounds like ODU is doing a little of their own promotion. Good for them.

"The baseball Monarchs will host CAA opponent Towson on Friday, April 23 at 7 p.m., in a "Flood the Bud" promotion to break the Bud Metheny Baseball Complex attendance record. All fans will be admitted for only $1 to the game, with prizes offered throughout the contest. ODU students will be admitted free with their I.D."
