One thing I have noticed about UNC is that they have very few players from outside NC. Not sure why this is in their particular case, but at some colleges the programs get charged in their internal budgets with how much they spend on scholarships. Even though all programs are capped at 11.7 scholarships total, if you spend those on in-state students, you spend less. This puts a premium on in-state recruiting, to save program dollars for other things.

So my two suggestions would be: Move to NC, and work on your spelling!
Getting admitted to UNC is tough ... just like getting admitted to UVA is tough. They both have very high academic standards.

Over 18,000 applied as freshmen last year, 3700 admitted. Average SAT was above 1300.

It's a very well respected school academically and athletically. That allows them to "cherry-pick" in-state for athletes in some sports. Seems to have worked this year.
