Sorry Bob
No responses from you show up.
I left my email address for you though.

I think the Northeast 10 is pretty well represented here by just a handful...
We've got at least 4 schools represented.
Look back at last years posts re: this conference.
Don't care? Sleeping?
CoachDad is right....busy
watching lots of games and making up the 11 that were postponed.

Stonehill is in first place.

Whoa... I did'nt say anything about taking 2 from FP in Fla. (although I was there :-) ) I just think FP has'nt played the better teams in the conference yet and things will be a little tougher then they have been so far. Pace has been a real spoiler so far and bryant and Stonehill will give FP a run for their money in my opinion. As far as the rankings... I'll never understand them but, congrats for being in the top 30... By the way.. I met the AD from Pierce in Fla. (very nice man) and I was impressed with how much he is behind your program and the coach, it's nice to have that kind of support.

Here's to hoping for a few (A) games :-)

There was a great article in the state newspaper on the NE-10 yesterday. (union leader-Jim Fennel) As it was stated in the article, if your one of the top teams in the NE-10, your one of the top teams in the country (div II). I'd have to agree... I attend a number of St A's and SNHU games, (when I'm not at my son's game and need a bball fix) Good ball!!! Prediction... FP,St.A's,Bryant top three.
KMAN
I really surprised you did'nt mention Southern Conn. in the mix.. I think the next 7 days is going to tell alot about the top teams in the conference. As far as the being among the top teams in the nation, I think the southern teams get a big jump in the spring and it takes the northeast teams awhile to catch up, so southern teams look like the powerhouses from the start. I still think they are a little ahead on talent though only because the top players still go to college in the south. I think the conference reg. season champion could come down to the final weekend. As far as the tournament champ its a toss up between SCSU, FP and Lowell

KMAN - Any chance in getting that link or article on NE10 i would love to read it ! Yes i would agree with Franklin Pierce being at the top when all is said and done. But Southern conn is playing some great ball right now, watch out for them. I have herd from some sports fans and baseball coaches that northeast 10 baseball can hang with some of the best east coast conferences. Including the sunshine state conference thought to be the best
-coachdad, try this link

It appeared in the sunday edition of the New Hampshire Union Leader Title of article
NE-10 becoming a baseball power conference by Jim Fennell
I'm planning on going to the St A's vs Southern Conn game this afternoon. Looking forward to seeing Southern Conn. play.
Glad I could help. There was another article the day earlier on FPC player Duplesie. Another good one. I watched him pitch in high school and in the NECBL. I like to see NH ballplayers do well! Good luck to your son next year. Tell him to keep working hard cause once you're in college...it's a whole nother ballgame! My son's a freshman this year. It's tough but he loves it! I'll have to watch for him next year! By the way saw a good one today...St.A's vs Southern Conn. Southern won 1-0.
KMAN - THANK YOU My son knows he has his work cut out for him and its time to play at another level of ball. What school does your son play for? SOUTHERN CONN is very strong this year - its going to be very interesting next three weeks in the northeast 10. Going up to watch FP play BRYANT this weekend sunday !

MOUNDMASTER - I think PACE being new to the Northeast 10 have caught teams off guard. They are a converted Div 1 team from last year i believe. So maybe Coach King was surprise of their good solid Baseball play! Who Knows - DUPLISSIE can pitch lights out and also swing some mean wood !One of their better hitters on the team. Not sure when the last time he pitched. But i know FP plays BRYANT this weekend for three games. He will pitch one of the games i'm sure.
Coachdad
Why would Coach King find it surprising that Pace played solid baseball ? As you said, they were a Div. 1 team last year. I think the reason is all the coachs are trying to get their pitching rotations in line for the finish of the reg. season and I find it very intresting. If teams get rained out this weekend its going to be a real scramble for teams with a pitching staff that does'nt go deep. I'm also surprised at some of the "upsets" this past week in the NE-10. Looks like the fight for the top is gonna come right down to the wire...
MOUNDMASTER - Yes i agree its gonna come down to the wire. Thats what makes the Northeast10 such a great Conference. Very competitive some great Coaching - Great athletes - playing on some of the best baseball fields around! Yes its getting GOOD. Going up to watch FP host Byrant Sunday. Todays games have been rained out and rescheduled. Maybe will see a little dryer weather Sunday so the boys can play - i hope clap
STAY DRY
I agree Coachdad.. should be a great game, I wish I could be there too but I have a wedding to attend tonight.. GEEEEEEEZ, The nerve of these people planning weddings during baseball season Big Grin Although Southern has the edge in the head to head series that was back in March.
I think this game will set the tone for the league tourament. I wish my son was pitching tonight but the coach pretty much stays set in his rotation and the kid they have throwing has had 3 great outings in a row. No matter who wins anyone who attends should see some great baseball from the NE-10
I saw Lowell beat St. A's yesterday, 6-3, a game in which 1st year Lowell coach Ken Harring recorded his 100th career victory. It's interesting to note that Coach Harring did this against St. A's, the team he coached last year before becomming the coach at Lowell this season. Lowell's starting pitcher, a lefty, gave up 3 runs in 7 innings of work. This was the first NE-10 game I watched, and the difference between wood and metal bats is really noticeable. I enjoyed watching some good local baseball and hope to see more games this season.

NHBaseball
NHbaseball,
I'm sure not to many people see wood bat games anymore. That's what makes the NE-10 so unique. I think the coachs have to really have to do their job (coach) and teach their team the finer points of the game (Bunting, baserunning, sacs and so on) you know... the way the game is really supposed to be played. I think all college should be wood bats. My theory is.. if your training for a job you should be using the same tools and and learning the skills that will make you sucessful in your trade. To me.. Metal and composite bats have killed the game as I knew it when I played. As far as the cost factor I'm sure major manufactures would gladly supply bats to the NCAA and it's schools. Kids today think they are doing great because they're hitting .350 and Jeter is only at .300.. put a wood bat in their hands and see what happens.
MOUNDMASTER - WELL SAID ! I AGREE Watched my first wood bat game last week at FPC. I can only say this - To be sitting so close to a game at this level of baseball and the players swinging the lumber and Pitchers throwing 85 to 92 MPH fast balls the sound of balls coming off the wood just gave me CHILLS sitting their. I can really respect the ball player when he hits a 400' shot with a wood bat ! Now thats playing BASEBALL. What a Pleasure to be a FAN of NORTHEAST 10 BASEBALL party SOUTHERN CONN BEAT FRANKLIN PIERCE TODAY pull_hair
Not only the HR shots Coachdad but, can you imagine what kids like Olsen, Hayes and Terni's (to mention a few)batting aves would be like playing in a "FAKE" bat conference. Any college batting records today almost mean nothing to me because they are not comparing apples to apples w/ all the records from the 70's and 80's when bats were wood and players learned to be complete hitters.
