They recruit players that are smart and have good grades! Coaches have been there a number of years, so there has been stability. A little tough for them to recruit due to academic standards and cost of Northwestern, which is private, versus other public institutions in the Big Ten and elsewhere. Roster size is limited to 27 or so, so if you are there you will have the opportunity to play certainly, which can be a plus.
Campus is very nice with a great location just north of Chicago. They have had players drafted each of the last few years, and for life after baseball the education is among the best in the country. The alumni network is exceptional and the opportunities for graduates of Northwestern are among the best there are anywhere.
