Just hit the news here locally a few hours ago. A young 22 yo Mom, entered a local convenience store with her 2 small children, (ages 1 &3), locked herself in the bathroom and proceeded to hack the children to peices. The 1 year old was pronounced dead at the scene, the 3 year old was taken to the trauma center with multiple stab wounds to the chest and body. She died shortly after arrival. The mother was apparently calm and taken away from the scene in handcuffs. Not many details are known at this time. I can not understand/fathom this. I am heartbroken and mortified--the community is in schock. The family members are devastated. All are need of your prayers tonight please. I am sure I will have nightmares tonight.

What's happening in this world. On the news this moring a story about an aunt who stabbed her autistic (sp) nephew in the eyes. He know can't speak or see.

Children are not asked to be brought into this world, too many people having children that don't belong having children.

So sad.
Thanks to all for your comments and prayers. I do not know this family, but it happened fairly close to an area where my family just moved from within the last year. The children were brought to the hospital where I work, and word spread quickly among the staff--it was a tough day for all. This doesn't seem to be a typical case of ongoing child abuse. Up until this time, the kids seemed well cared for and loved--she had been going thru some difficult times over the last few weeks and it seems like she had some kind of psychotic break. No excuse of course, but just trying to make some sense of it.

Agree with MNMom on this ... no explaining the unexplainable except for some form of psychotic break from reality.

There are no words to express the depth of sorrow I feel for these children, and the profound sadness for the mother and children's father and other family members.

These little angels are now with their Heavenly Father and will never have to know that level of fear or pain again.
