Our hosting company has a forum upgrade planned for this Sunday evening thru Tuesday morning (Oct. 9-11) which could result in a very brief outage for us. They are rolling out a chat room upgrade to all of the forums they host, and we don't know when our upgrade will take place during those few days. When it's our turn, the forums will probably be offline for no more than 5 minutes.
It should be interesting to see how the new forums look and function, as the new format will be Macromedia Flash based rather than the current Java technology. (I'm a Flash developer in my real job, so I'm actually quite curious.)
Most computers have the free Flash Player already installed, but if you have any trouble accessing the chat room after the upgrade, you may need to download the current version at:
Flash Player Upgrade
(Uncheck the Yahoo Toolbar selection on the page linked above if you do not want to install this Yahoo option - I wish they wouldn't automatically check this box, as you DO NOT need the Yahoo toolbar.)
If anyone has troubles accessing the chat room next week after this upgrade, please post your questions here!
Julie
