I like it. I know it is driven by football but it is also a big step forward for the baseball team. ODU will new to continue to spend money on baseball.

So its a done deal? Best thing for them!
I agree with you on the baseball side of this move, but football another story. ODU rose to the top in the CAA really fast for football. I think they will struggle the first few years, ECU, Houston, Marshall, etc. will kill them! I don't know much about basketball, never really been a fan.

There will be an adjustment period and they will take their lumps initially. You have to recruit better talent than what they have now. But, the lure of now playing for a BCS team will help draw that talent. The coaching staff will have their work cut out for themselves.
This goes for baseball, too. They will need to upgrade recruiting and spending.
Travel budget will certainly increase. Not too many easy bus trips across the league geography. It will be interesting to see how recruiting plays out. From the look of Coach Finwood's 2013 recruits it looks like a makeover is already underway.
