I have 10 players that have been in my offseason class and have been working out and playing games since school started. Their games are over for the fall, and we will quit throwing hard from Thanksgiving to New Year. We will start back throwing hard after the first of the year (1st official after school practice is the end of Jan.).

Sub-varsity football ended this week and I picked up 9 more players in my offseason class. 8 of these kids have not picked up a ball in the last 5 months.

What would you do with this group in terms of working out?

Our schedule for the remaining of the semester:
2 weeks in school
1 week off for Thanksgiving
3 weeks in school
2 weeks off for Christmas
3 weeks in school
After school practice starts Jan 28.

Coach right now we are hitting the weights and working speed/conditioning very hard. My kids are getting themselves together 2-3 times per week keeping the rust off with their hitting/defense. We'll use some of the cold days for "chalk talk". But right now we're getting stronger. Had one kid increase his squat 35 lbs this last 6 weeks.

We're doing the major lifts 3 times a week, core and speed/conditioning type stuff the other two. Even working in mat drills for body control. Kids hated it the first few days but seem to enjoy it now.

our off season/We have about an hour a day.
We break up into two groups in november..Prior to November we worked 20 minutes a day throwing program, 25 minutes baseball specific to position and 15 minutes of functional strength training..

We got 6 weeks now into position-22 kids and a small varsity pitcher group-4 kids.
It does change some, but here is what position guys do pretty much.
Every Day starts with a dynamic warmup routine.
Monday-we start with 10 min mat drills/ 40 min heavy lower/ Jog over and start throwing routine which we leave them to complete at this point.(every day)

Tuesday- speed-15 min/ upper back and chest.- heavy generally by heavy we go 4x6 or 5x5 in focus lifts..supps are higher reps.

Wednesday-Agility day 10to 15 min/ complex training..We do a program from Diamonds or another program I created.

Thursday- speed 15 min (our speed workout usually all timed and broken into 15's, 30's and 60's..4-3-2/ upper day focus on shoulders, biceps and triceps.

Friday-We do a gauntlet(what i call it). Its basically 10 different 100 yd build ups with plyo push up and a core builder like scorpions, planks or torso twists etc between each build up.

Pitchers is completely different. I can put on here if anyone wants. Its basically broke into core days, armcare, general strength exercises and velocity building. A lot of it is pitching central and Eric Cressey stuff.

I realize i'm not very articulateSmile
