My son is currently playing football and cannot do fall ball and football as the same time. In the past, he played through the fall took off November and December and started to work out again after Christmas. This seemed to work.

This year football wont end until early / mid December. That will mean little to no baseball for almost five months. I suggested to him that he starts some workouts in November, but how much? Time is limited with advanced classes in school and football.

My suggestion was to try to work in long toss three days a week until football is over and kick in after Christmas.

I am sure others are in the same boat, how does your son work back into baseball?

School has to be #1 in this situation so make sure he isnt over doing it between the two overlapping. When does the actual season start? Assuming where you are in PA is similar to NJ he probably starts practice end of feb, beginning of march? In that case I wouldn't rush it too much, 2+ months should be plenty of time to get his arm strength up and get in baseball shape especially since he is just finishing up a football season. I would say you are on the right track though with having him long toss three times a week end of Nov, beginning of Dec. I wouldn't push him too hard or he will most likely hit a wall halfway through the season.
