My son moves into his off-campus house this weekend with FIVE of his team-mates. They are all sophomores and good kids overall, but I have to say that I'm just a bit nervous. Our experience has shown that even good kids can get very stupid when in groups of two or more.... Roll Eyes Judging by how my son's room looks(even at his host family's house this summer), he has no need for a laundry hamper or any type of clothes storage unit other than the floor. I can only imagine how he determines which clothes are clean vs dirty. Will he eat enough and will a vegetable touch his lips for the next few months? I actually got him drapes that matched his bedspread -- you should have seen the eyes roll with that one Cool. The good news is, only six months until the baseball season starts!

URKMB,

Similar situation here....son is moving off-campus with 5 other team mates. He actually moved in this summer and has already given me enough reasons to "question" whether all will be alright this coming year! Wink For instance, given the terrible heat we had this summer, and his apartment's lack of airconditioning....he went to Wal-mart to buy an air-conditioner for his bedroom. Sounds okay...however, never occurred to me he didn't know HOW to install an airconditioner. Therefore...he just set it on the floor of his bedroom and called me the next morning inquiring as to why there might be ALOT of water pooling on his floor! Roll Eyes Sometimes they seem so grown up and then there are those OTHER times!
I can also relate to this discussion as I have a sometimes 30, sometimes 10, average age of 20 year old son as well. He recently locked his keys in his truck again....I've lost track of how many times this has happened since he's been in college. When I questioned him about it his immediate response was, "Well, it wasn't my fault." I said, "Well, you're 20 years old. WHEN will it become your fault?" I had to laugh about that one! laugh
Just to assure you they will on occassion get vegetables.

My son was in a similar situation his soph year. Every time we went to visit I would fix a meal for him - with plenty extra for the other boys.

I remember well the first time I took the brocolli and cauliflower out of the oven to stir the cheese sauce - there was three young men stealing spoonfulls before I could put it back in to finish cooking.

(just remember to take your own dishrags, dishsoap etc. so you can clean the kitchen BEFORE you cook). They will love you - not only for the food, but for the clean kitchen as well.
luvbb and lafmom...

I can barely wait until Saturday to find out if their stuff will coordinate or not....

My son's fave color is green so needless to say...if I could find anything in green or had green in it...it got bought. I'm talking bright green, i.e. neon or lime.

Just hope his roommate's bedding and towels aren't bright orange. Eek Eek

AK...

Nice play on lafmom's name. Smile
Have to admit....COMPLETELY different college prep experience this year with my daughter than with my son two years ago! EVERYTHING coordinates...down to the colored plastic hangers! Roll Eyes Thank goodness for on-line catalogues that the two could peruse and coordinate together long-distance. My son? He probably doesn't even USE hangers! biglaugh

The wits come from, well my mom haha.

About the green, that is exactly how my little sister is. She is addicted to green, she even wants a lime green hatchback. To make matters worse, the house next to my window painted their house lime green. And the house and no slouch either, its freakin huge. Well my venting is done, good day ladies.
