Bradenton, look out! Cool

Anybody close by, I'd love to meet ya. I'll be there 10 glorious days. Hopefully Josh will fare better than he did in his first outing, but none the less, it'll be great just to see him and watch BASEBALL.

Also plan on meeting OPP's son Zach and hope to watch him pitch in one of his games.

I'll probably have to stay out of the water. I'd hate for them to keep throwing me back in whenever I get out thinking I was a beached whale. biglaughpull_hair

I'll miss hearing about everyone else, but imagine the fun I'll have catching up when I get back.

Later,
Frank

Good luck and have fun Frank. I wish I was there. My sons team, Illinois-Chicago will be playing Miami 3/19-21 and then 2 other teams on the 23&24. Ryan will get the Miami start on 3/19 and I wish I was there to see how those Northern boys match up with the Canes. Who knows they may surprise 'em. The 4-3 loss and 9-1 win at Arkansas last weekend was a nice tuneup.

Thanks all, will do. Been halfway around the world, but never to FL. Who'd a thunk. noidea

Tar,

Leaving tomorrow morning. Flying into Tampa. Thanks to a tip by OPP, I'll be staying at the Days Inn by the Gulf (even though you can't see it from there laugh).

Son plays for Dartmouth and all their games (except for Florida in Gainesville) will be at the IMG Academies. Not sure, but he thinks he will throw on the 19th against Iowa.

Not sure what hat I'll bring. Coaches might not appreciate my Yankee hat biglaugh. I'll be sitting in the Dartmouth section and wife will probably be keeping a scorebook (keeps her attention). Just ask where the Pueblo parents are. I'd love to meet you.

PS - Wear your shades. You'll need them because of the glare from my white legs. Eek

Sort of the same deal, my son's D-2 school just completed a one week trip to Hawaii, playing 3 DH's against Hawaiian Pacific, and touristing for 3 days, so I feel your joy. Lessons we learned:

1. Those coconut shells that the gals wear aren't insulated.

2. It does rain in Hawaii.

3. Who cares????

4. A week of sun and baseball can't be beat.

5. Anyone offered a scholly at HPU or U. of Hawaii has to be crazy to say no.

6. 50% of the tourists there are from Japan.

7. Hilo Hattie's is the place to buy shirts. (and they do come in purple JustMom)

8. Sunscreen.

9. sunscreen.

10. Don't wander too far South on Wakiki Beach- at one end, the beach "runs out of females."

11. Any spring break trip to a warmer climate is a good thing. Not a cheap thing, but a very good thing.

I'm back, unfortunately Frown. Had a great time. Got to meet young OPP, Zach. He's definitely a great young man who has a plan and is mature beyond his years. Got to pick his brain a little about life in the minors. Kudo's to Mr. and Mrs. Duke for a job well done.

Dartmouth didn't play quite as well as I had hoped, but they looked at a lot of kids in a lot of different situations so that's a plus. Josh went 1-1 with a 4-3 loss to Iowa giving up six hits and one earned run (5 errors did us in). As Chill said he beat Northwestern after pitching out of jams almost every inning. Ended up giving up 2 earned runs in 15 innings.

Wore shorts and sandals on Friday, needed a parka and umbrella at the local DII game on Saturday. noidea
