Coach May...been thru Flomaton many times on the way north (Atlanta, etc.)...just after the Century speed trap. Wink Was up in your neck of the woods in the summer of 2003..USSSA 13 Major Nationals (High Point "triangle). Thanks for all the congrats. It's hard to "turn him loose" since I've been involved in the coaching process for the last 8-10 years. I guess I'll just be another parent "second-guessing" every coaching decision. Razz
Hirrel...his school has a freshmen team, a jv (usually all sophmores...occasional junior or freshman), and a varsity (all juniors and seniors with the occasional sophmore). Generally, the program is recognized as one of the best (if not the best) overall in the NW FLA area...alumni include Don Sutton, Travis Fryman, Jay Bell. It is a noteworthy accomplishment and I am proud of his efforts in attaining his immediate goals...some of his talented friends were "skittish" about going there because of the rep as tough to make.

OPP...re: your encouragement to hit the books...believe me it is being talked about and his grades are good right now. He gets to see living examples of "slippage" in that area as a couple of his previous travel ball teammates did not even have the grades (not even close) to be able to tryout. Frown
Speaking of programs we have one here in NC that around here is pretty unbelieveable. They have a Freshman team they carry 25 on. They have a JV consists of Fresh Soph they carry 25. They have a varsity they carry 25. Now that is 75 players that they carry in their program each year. Its my understanding that they usually have around 200 kids come out for the three teams each year. If Im doing the math right that means 125 or so are cut each year. They are pretty darn good every year. Its a 4-A program but not any bigger enrollment than anyother 4-A's in the state.
