Waukesha West's (Wisconsin) Senior Pitcher/Shortstop Bret Huotari verbally accepted an athletic scholarship to play baseball for Mike Zolecki at Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee. Huotari helped lead Coach Chad Montez' s Wolverines to their 3rd and 4th straight trips to the Summer State Tournament in Wisconsin. His goals were first to find a school with a strong business program and also find a baseball program where he could make an immediate impact. He also had a strong preference to stay in the Milwaukee area. With Stritch he believes he's met all three goals. The majority of interest in Huotari for baseball came from the NCAA Division II, NAIA and Juco levels. In addition to baseball, Huotari was also being actively recruited as a wrestler. Cardinal Stritch is a member of the NAIA Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Halfmoon,
Congrats from VA, I know the feeling. Son went same route, will be playing in the AAC (NAIA) next year. Maybe we will get lucky and they'll meet one day in the NAIA world series.
I know your real proud of your son's accomplishment and sounds like he found a great fit. He should be very happy there. Good luck to Bret on and off the field.

GO RAMS!
Sting, now that would be somthin! Thanks CoachMerc. Missed you too Lafmom. How's the Bluegrass? GotWood, have we run into each other? Bret got started for the Lake Villa IL Travelers at 9. We ended our youth ball as Waukesha Firebirds. And finally Chicks, that's way too lofty a platitude for the likes of me. Like Garth Brooks sang....I've got friends in low places!
